Tradovate has a built-in feature called Group Trade, and many prop firms point traders to it. It's free and works well for some setups. But it isn't a trade copier, and it can't do the thing most multi-firm traders want: copy trades from one prop firm to another.
What Tradovate Group Trade does
Group Trade lets you place one order across several accounts at once. You create a group under Manage Groups in the account dropdown, add accounts, and set a fixed order quantity for each. When you trade with the group selected, Tradovate splits the order across every account in it. It works in the Tradovate web and desktop apps, not the mobile app.
Its limits
- Same provider only. Tradovate says Group Trade can only be used between accounts held with the same brokerage provider, such as two accounts from the same prop firm. Accounts at two different prop firms can't be grouped.
- No ATM brackets. Tradovate's article says Group Trade doesn't support ATM strategies, and Apex and Tradeify both say bracket orders (ATMs) don't work while group trading. You place stops and targets by hand.
- Orders must be a multiple of the group total. With three accounts at 1 contract each, you can only trade 3, 6, 9 and so on. Any other size returns an error.
- You have to trade from the group. It fans out an order you place with the group selected. It doesn't copy a trade placed on a single account.
- Not from TradingView. Apex notes Group Trade can't be used within TradingView.
- Flatten works per account. Tradeify warns that "Exit All Positions Cancel All" only closes the selected account, not the rest of the group.

| Order sizes | Multiples of the group total | Any size; each follower has a multiplier and a max |

Which should you use?
- All your accounts at one prop firm: use Group Trade. It's built in and needs nothing extra, as long as you're fine placing stops and targets by hand.
- Accounts at two or more prop firms: Group Trade can't link them, so you need a copier that works across logins. Copy Trade for Tradovate does this for free in Chrome: one tab leads, the others follow.
- Both: you can combine them. Use Group Trade inside one firm and the copier between firms, as long as every account trades the same direction.
